Bye bye

My husband and I are heading off for a 3 week backpacker trip through Scotland.

I hope you all will have a nice summer!!

What do you need when you spend some time at your desk? I need some fruits (its a smoothie this time), a coffee with vanille soy milk and water.

"Brotzeit"

Once or twice the week I am baking our own bread. Since I am doing that, I wonder why most breads, and even bread mixes, have so much ingredients! That cannot be healthy! As my husband and I both eat bread every day for breakfast, I think its better to bake it myself, its not that much work!

The bread dough:
Ingredients:
- 500 g whole wheat flour
- 1 pckg yeast
- salt
- 400 ml warm water
- sunflower seeds and/or pumkin seeds
- 2 ts vinigar

All mixed together and put in the cold (!!) oven, turn it on to 200°C, bake fpr 55 minutes.

traveling to Trier

This weekend we went to my sister-in-law and her husband to celebrate their sons baptism. My husband was the godfather.

After the baptism my sister-in-law and her husband invited everybody to their home for lunch. And they made a vegan carrot-ginger-soup. It was delicious!!! And later, they had vegan sallow thorn muffins! We had to travel back earlier because we have to work tomorrow, but I took some muffins with me and they were delicious too!
As I was the only vegan there, it is especially kind of my sister-in-law to search for vegan recepies and realize them so perfectly! I am really pleased!!
Of coure, I asked for the recepies so I could cook them again some time. :-)

And look at the food:

The carrot-ginger-soup:
Indegrients:
- 1400 g carrots
- 4 onions
- 4 ts olive-oil
- 1.5 l water
- 0.5 l orangejuice
- 2 peaces of ginger
- 4 ts vegetable stock
- parsley
- chilli
- curry
- salt, pepper



The sallow thorn muffins:

Indegrients:
- 200 g flour
- 100 g sugar
- 80 g coconut "raspeln"
- 150 g soy-cream
- 80 ml oil
- 80 g apple puree
- 1 orange
- 0.5 ts baking soda
- 2.5 ts baking powder
- 0.5 ts sallow thorn jam
- 1 pckg "orangenback"

Salad for Lunch

Today I had a salad for lunch made out of paprica and lettuche from our balcony! :-)

Ingredients:
- lollo rosso (from balcony)
- spinach
- tomatoes
- paprica (from balcony)
- red onions
- sunflower seeds
- garbanzos

Dressing:
- olive oil
- balsamico vinegar
- mustard
- yeast flakes


And here is the Paprica-Plant (I put it in the shadow and watered it after I took the photo, its just way too hot this summer!)

siciliane cioccolato

Look what my housband got me from Sicily where he went for work: Some nice chocolate and it is vegan!
Probably because it is so hot in Sicily, they created their own chocolate which consists only of cacao and sugar and some aroma.
My husband brought me vanilla, cinnamon, coffee, chilli, mint and one without aroma. They are delicious!!

Birthday Buffet

Yesterday was my 29th birthday. I invited some friends over to our flat to celebrate, of course I had some vegan food and drinks prepared. :-)


Strawberry punch:
Ingredients:
- strawberrys soaked with sugar for 2 hours
- white wine
- sparkling wine
- sparkeling water



Guacamole:
Indegrients:
- avocados
- tomatoes
- red onions
- salt, pepper, paprica


"noodle salad":
This is sooo german, can't have a party without some noodle salad! :-)

Ingredients:
- cooked and cooled noodles
- peas
- gherkins
- tofu sausage
- vegan mayonnaise
- salt, pepper



Muffins american style:
Ingredients:
- mix for vegan chocolate muffins (Yes, I am lazy....)
- vegan chocolate chips
- powdered sugar (for icing)
- red and green food coloring (for icing)
- gelatine free gummi bears
